High in the Andes Mountains, and lesser known than its neighbors Colombia and Brazil, Peru’s beans are a hidden treasure in the coffee market. Peruvian coffee has a bright snap, gentle sweetness, and medium body and acidity.
The area is well known for organic production of coffee, as many farms and mills are certified and up to organic standards. A good part of our Peruvian coffee comes from the La Florida cooperative, which was established in 1965 with 100 small farming families. Since then, it has grown to include over 1200 farmers and provides technical assistance, micro-credit lending to its members, and health care.
